The Feast is an experience. The evening begins with a tour of the beautiful grounds and visiting the many app and drink stations. Chef Michael Smith then used a potato gun to launch a potato into the water and then opens champagne with a sword. The multiple courses were great tasting, artfully presented and served are the perfect temp to the many guests. The evening ends around the fire pit with smores. Highly recommended. Bring warm clothes and an appetite.
I've handed out 5 stars to places that I was perfectly happy with but this is different. My wife and I visited recently and had an amazing experience. Chef Michael Smith's genuine enthusiasm for the farming, the cooking and the celebration was infectious. I'd like to thank both Chef Michael Smith and Chastity Smith for their hospitality, all the staff for their hard work, Kevin for sharing his passion for the land and the food, and Aaron at the front desk for helping me get refreshed on some of their delicious local brews. Please do yourself a favour and spend at least a night here, attend the pre-feast tour, drink some delicious cocktails and enjoy all that a literal farm-to-table dining experience has to offer.
Attended "The Feast", which debuted with an in-depth tour of the farm. The tour was highly educational and the insights helped develop my appreciation for all the work (and consideration) that goes into producing high-quality ingredients. This was a highlight for me. The meal itself was outstanding: the presentation was breathtaking and the flavors were varied & stunning. There were multiple courses and while all were tasty, the seafood dishes clearly stood out to me as the stand-out options. Lastly, I would be remiss to fail to discuss the venue itself. The decor at the inn, the farm, and the facilities was truly tremendous; it added a considerable amount to the character of the venue and to atmosphere of the dining experience here. Overall, I would highly recommend taking part in "The Feast" at The Inn at Bay Fortune, it was a worthwhile and unforgettable experience.
5 stars all the way. This is more than just going to a restaurant, it's a culinary experience. You start off getting a nice cocktail to take along on a tour of the farm from which they use to create the menu depending on what is ready for harvesting. Next is the 4 appetizer sections, that you can try as many times as you wish, although you want to save lots of room for the feast. After a toast with some local bubbly it's time to sit down at the family style tables for the 6 course feast. Each dish was excellent and presented beautifully. The wine pairings were all very nice as well. This is a must on your list if you go to PEI.
COME HUNGRY!! Everything about this place is amazing! The farm tour before was very interesting and really makes you think about where your food comes from. It also helps to drum up an appetite! We were seated with a great group of Atlantic Canadians/locals and the conversation was unforgettable. If you are looking for a pure local experience on PEI, THIS IS IT!
