*First of all, I did not stay here*, although I tried. When I called to book a room for late August, and asked about whether I could park my car there for an additional couple of nights prior to our arrival, the woman on the phone was so crotchety that she almost short-circuited, exclaiming. dont torture me with these questions. Wow! If thats her business attitude, I will take mine elsewhere. PS: I never have issues with people.
I wouldnt pay to park my lawnmower here. Just awful. RUDE RUDE RUDE. Haggled over price which was fine but did it in such a condescending manner.....even on the phone. House/business is for sale so that should say something. This guy needs to retire. And I quote I dont deal in hours lady I deal in days! Ummm a day is 24 hours and you want to charge me for two days???? He is horrid. Its not about the $14 at this point, its about treating humans like humans. Even on the phone he was mad about working late. DO NOT ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS FOR A 2 AM CROSSING IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP!! Even told me how to ring the door bell. One of the worst humans Ive ever encountered. I had to give at least a 1 star to write this but he doesnt deserve that. I have my own business and if I ever become as crusty as he was, Im retiring.
When we booked this we had advised that we would be arriving at 2 am and they were OK with it as that's when the ferry arrives. After spending time on the islands we did not want to drive in the middle of night. We did arrive at the port by 1:30 and the best part of this B&B? It is opposite the port - literally. Lots of cars are parked on the back of property and nearby as a lot people park and walk on the ferry for apparently $5/day. We were tired and went to bed right away. The room a bit small and not too nicely furnished. But we were OK as we just wanted a place to crash. The bed and mattress dated. We woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs. However we forgot to mention that one of us a vegan and the other a strict vegetarian (no eggs). The bathroom was again dated and needs a big update. Obviously the host was not pleased when told we couldn't have anything for breakfast. We apologized profusely. Host was kind enough to give us English Muffins and jam. The jam seemed homemade and was amazing. Host tells us that they might retire soon as it is too tiring for them. Fairly Good place to stay, very reasonably priced, good host and very close to the Souris harbour.
Clean rooms and the hosts are very welcoming but $30 for an extra person and the breakfast is continental. It's too overpriced.
Clean, Great Hosts, reasonably priced and they serve a great breakfast!
